This week, Dr. Joseph P. Farrell and I present News Trends & Stories, Part I for the 2nd Quarter 2025 Wrap Up. Our theme this quarter is “Stablecoins: Where the Carrot Meets the Stick.” Be sure to read Mark Goodwin’s treatment of that topic and listen to my July 8 interview with Mark.

For Part I, Joseph and I focus on the first two stories:

Reconstruction 1.0 vs 2.0: One Person at a Time
WWIII: The War on Everybody

Our discussion of Reconstruction 1.0 versus 2.0 draws on Joseph’s fascinating two-volume examination of the money war between the Union government and the Confederacy during and after the U.S. Civil War. In my review of the first volume, The Rialto in Richmond: The Money War Between the States & Other Mysteries of the Civil War, I describe it as a barn burner that delves into a number of still all-too-relevant topics: “missing money, presidential assassinations, secret technology, Cabinet betrayals, and cover-ups.” Joseph’s second volume, The Rialto in Richmond Reconstructed: Confederates, Canada, and Carpetbaggers, reveals further parallels between the Civil-War-era currency battles and our current historical moment, including the dollar syndicate’s present-day efforts to use stablecoins to extend the life of the dollar as reserve currency.

Next we turn to WWIII: The War on Everybody. There are many wars to cover—the war in Ukraine, war and regime change in the Middle East, the struggles between the BRICS and the G7, and, very much related, the accelerating control grid and the war on domestic populations. That means the war on all of us.
