Lashanda Wilder Sentenced to LIFE IN PRISON for Killing Her 8-year Old Son.

Police discovered the chilling details in the 2024 murder of Martonio Wilder, 8, after his mother Lashanda Wilder, 33, reported him missing in an elaborate plot to cover up her guilt. When police officers began searching for Martonio using search dogs, Lashanda and her girlfriend, Johnna Lowe, left the scene with two other children. Martonio’s body was found inside a laundry bag, and a history of abuse was uncovered. The autopsy determined he died by asphyxiation and had signs of blunt force trauma. His body weighed 35 pounds, was malnourished, with sunken eyes, and his bones could be seen through his skin. Details of the investigation revealed that Lashanda would subject the 8-year-old to “unusual punishments,” like having him carry a weighted ball up and down the stairs while naked. She would also lock him inside a closet and keep food from him, to the point that he would steal nourishment from other homes. Lashanda also stole $1,000 from her job at Popeyes, later claiming it was for Martonio’s funeral, though it was prior to the death.
