Oleksandr Usyk is a TOP 5 heavyweight of all time | Usyk vs. Dubois 2 recap
Oleksandr Usyk is a top five heavyweight of all time, and I’m tired of pretending like he’s not. Last night, in Usyk vs Dubois 2, Usyk stopped Daniel Dubois in five rounds—an even quicker finish than their first fight. This video breaks down what happened, why it happened, and what it means for Usyk’s legacy and the heavyweight division.

Now, let’s be honest—Usyk’s run has been nothing short of legendary. Joshua, Joshua, Chisora, Dubois, Fury, Fury, and now Dubois again. He’s beaten all the top names in this era. And in every rematch, he doesn’t just win—he dominates. Just look at the Usyk vs Joshua 2 fight. First one was close, second one? Clear as day. Then against Tyson Fury, the first fight was competitive, sure—but by the rematch, Usyk had Fury looking like a shell of himself.
And let’s not ignore what happened last time. In their first fight, Dubois landed a low blow that nearly ended the bout. People called it controversial, even dirty. And here we are again—another low blow from Dubois. And this isn’t new. He did the same thing against Filip Hrgović with the headbutts, and tried it on Joshua too. The man’s got a reputation now. But Usyk doesn’t fold. He adjusts, gets better, and finishes stronger.
Speaking of Joshua, let’s talk about that mess with the belts. Usyk beat Fury to become the undisputed champ. That’s a fact. But boxing politics being what they are, the belts got stripped so Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois could fight for a vacant title. Dubois knocks Joshua out in a shocking upset, but it doesn’t erase what Usyk already accomplished. So now they’re calling this a “two-time undisputed” fight? Come on. That’s weak. Usyk was never beaten. He unified the belts the right way—in the ring.
Usyk’s power is always a topic of debate. Some say it doesn’t translate at heavyweight. But here’s the thing: he’s stopped Daniel Dubois twice now. And while Dubois may not have the best chin, Usyk’s timing and accuracy are lethal. He doesn’t just knock people out—he breaks them down. He dismantled Joshua, frustrated Fury, and now folded Dubois again.
And he’s doing all this at 38 years old.
But let’s talk real options. Joseph Parker is on a killer run right now. Since losing to Joe Joyce, he’s racked up wins over Jack Massey, Faiga Opelu, Simon Kean, and then started stacking big names: Deontay Wilder, Zhilei Zhang, Martin Bakole. He’s knocking people down, fighting on short notice, and showing that he belongs back in the conversation. I don’t think he beats Usyk, but it’s a solid name for the resume.
Another name? Agit Kabayel. That guy attacks the body like no one else in the division. Not just throwing shots—his whole game plan is to wear you down downstairs. He beat Zhilei Zhang, who is no joke, and he did it clean. If anyone’s going to test Usyk’s ability to handle body shots, it’s probably Kabayel. It’s a unique challenge—and that’s what makes it interesting.
Now, if we’re dreaming, let’s talk about Artur Beterbiev vs Usyk—a cruiserweight superfight. These two met in the amateurs multiple times. Usyk got the better of him in the Olympics, but Beterbiev was once one of the most feared men in boxing before losing to Dmitry Bivol. Run it back in the pros. Beterbiev moves up, Usyk cuts a bit. No belts needed—just greatness chasing greatness. Legacy fight, plain and simple.
Because that’s what this is all about—legacy. Usyk’s already one of the best fighters of this era, but the heavyweight division is still evolving. New names like Moses Itauma are rising. Veterans like Parker, Zhang, and Wilder are hanging around. And Usyk? He’s at the top. But time is undefeated. He’s 38. He’s not going to be here forever.
So let’s give him his flowers now. Oleksandr Usyk is one of the best heavyweights of all time, period. He’s not just winning—he’s doing it in style, against the biggest and most dangerous names out there. He’s cleaned out cruiserweight. He’s cleaning out heavyweight. And he’s doing it all while making it look easy.
Watch the video for the full fight breakdown, commentary on Usyk’s rematch strategy, and a look at where he goes from here. Whether it’s Zhilei Zhang, Joseph Parker, Agit Kabayel, or even a final showdown with Artur Beterbiev, we’re witnessing the tail end of something truly special.
Appreciate greatness while it’s here. Because Oleksandr Usyk won’t be around forever.
