Let’s Talk! Matt Walsh, The Truth About America, My Thoughts. Recorded 7/17/2025

Though I don't follow him closely, I usually enjoy listening to posts by Matt Walsh; and I usually understand the basis for the opinions he expresses, and I usually agree. What set me onto this topic of discussion was as much the reactions in the comments section as anything Mr. Walsh said in the video. Let's face it, the conversation about "colonizers" is as much about them being White as it is about some of them being guilty, in a number of cases, but not all, of committing some recognizably dishonorable acts.

In my first foray into this discussion, I broadly examine two issues I have with it generally: 1. An action isn't right just because it is taken; and 2. We can repent for the sins of our ancestors, but we are not responsible for them.

I make no guarantees that I will discuss this regularly, but neither do I anticipate that this will be the only time. As fraught with high passion as this issue is, we must not give in to those who would seek to undo the progress so many of us have fought and died to make toward healing from the cultural wounds of our past and demonstrating that we can be and are better together as a whole people than as fractured enemies.

Below are some links relative to material in this discussion:
Matt Walsh: People Are Outraged That I’m Speaking The Truth About America - As noted in one of the text pop-ups in the video, I didn't realize until I was starting to edit that this video was several months old. It popped up in my YT algorithm on July 17, 2025, and I was recording my response within an hour of seeing it. I invite you to see for yourself what he had to say.

Quora – This page on the site has people answering, among others, the question of how Israel came to control the West Bank. Israel won control by right of conquest in the Six Day War of 1967. In sum, based on the answers, Egypt kicked out the UN force that was stationed in the Sinai, took control of the Straits of Tiran, and amassed on the Egypt-Israel border a force said to number more than all the Jewish male population of Israel. Their stated intent was to push Israel into the sea. Instead, Israel preemptively struck Egypt and defeated them, wiping out their air force in a day. Several other nations then joined the attack and were defeated. Jordan had not originally been involved, but supposedly, Egypt persuaded them to jump in, telling Jordan that they were winning the war. Israel warned Jordan to stay out of the war. Jordan joined in, lobbing bombs from East Jerusalem, which they controlled, into West Jerusalem. When they were done, Israel attacked them and drove them out of East Jerusalem and all the way back to Jordan itself, taking the West Bank in the process.
