Toby is joined today by Judith Bartmann, owner of Bear Creek Companies specializing in spices and baked goods.

Judith let her curiosity and boredom lead her to a new path, where she was able to do what she had always done for her family and extend that to her community. She loved cooking and experimenting, so she turned it into a small business that is seeing great success. Listen in to her journey and be encouraged. You too can use what you have and it’s never too late.

“I made a whole bunch of different bread. Okay. Went up there and all sold out. Oh, okay. And it was like the lady that had the booth next to me. She said, this is really good bread. But she said, you

better realize it's not going to sell out every time. And I said, yeah, I was afraid that I was going to

take it all home this time. You've got to figure out, this sold, but that didn't. Do I make this again and take a chance? Or do I not?” – Judith Bartmann

“I was cooking one time, kind of like I had said with an experiment on spices and it was like, well, geez, I'm tired of putting on this steak, salt and pepper, and that's it. I wonder what would happen if I did this. so it didn't turn out too bad that first time. Second time was awful.” – Judith Bartmann
