Sugar Loaf has new life

The Long-shuttered Sugar Loaf Resort property in Leelanau County might soon have a new purpose. The Leelanau conservancy has entered into an agreement to purchase the property for 8 million dollars provided they can raise another 1.6 million by years end. The plan is to turn it into a public recreation area. Sugar Loaf opened in 1947 and closed 25 years ago. David Barr Michigan News Source.
