Sarah Isgur on Epstein’s Grand Jury Material: A Political Issue Is Not a Reason to Release the Materials

RADDATZ: “And, Sarah, I want to go to you on that. It is very difficult to release grand jury files. And would that really satisfy people, do you think?”

ISGUR: “Right? It’s not going to happen and it’s not going to satisfy them even under criminal procedure 6-E grand jury materials are sealed. Now there are exceptions. The Department of Justice has obviously asked the judge to unseal these, but the exceptions are all related to official Department of Justice business. They have another investigation that they need it on or another crime committed, national security, not we’re in a political sticky issue and we could use your help. That is not a reason to release grand jury materials. I can’t imagine a judge saying yes to this.”
