Drummond utility Pump maintenance 1, upd 2

This is my first maintenance for a stuck pump in my aquaponics bed this morning, it's my second supplimental aquaponics update video.

The Drummond pump is clear water only; so these hydro clay fragments are a risk. In this video I clear out the blockage and add additional filter media to discourage this happening again.

During yesterdays live stream adding the hydro clay the additional drag pulled the filter I had on the inlet pipe off. I've fixed that but that's one way the hydrton may have got in. The screen likely wouldn't have stopped these fragments; so the hydro clay could have been cleaned better or I could use a finer mesh for the inlet screen (I'm thinking window screen) for the inlet pipe.
I'll do that if it happens a second time to limit the potential for damage to the pump. So these are two additional pitfalls to using this pump for a ebb-flow. It is fast though, it only takes about 2 minutes to flood the bed and initiate the bell siphon.
