Terrifying scenes unfolded off the coast of Talise Island, North Sulawesi, Indonesia, as video footage showed passengers leaping into the sea to escape a raging fire aboard the KM Barcelona VA, a passenger vessel engulfed in flames.

According to initial reports, the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) has launched an emergency evacuation operation. The cause of the fire remains under investigation as authorities rush to account for all passengers and crew.

Witnesses described chaotic moments as thick smoke billowed from the ship, prompting terrified passengers to abandon the vessel and jump overboard.
