I got shredded by a mother cat - the legacy of brutal cat breeders.

I knew the moment I found these kittens that they were the result of a breeder being in action.

Frequently we find kittens that we strongly suspect have been thrown away by breeders - either because the kittens turned out to have no market value, or because they were sick. Buying and selling of cats is MASSIVE business in Indonesia - despite the claim of being majority Muslim. The buying and selling of cats or dogs is forbidden in Islam - and their breeding for the same purpose is also forbidden. There are no exceptions despite their vacuous claims. But then interfering with nursing mothers or their offspring is also forbidden with ALL animals (irrespective whether they are pets, wild animals, farm animals or birds) - and that doesn't stop the epidemic rates of dumping of kittens as young as only days old. There is nowhere that cats inhabit that has a shortage of them - the presence of breeders is a scourge. In this case, after the initial encounter with this mother cat which was typical for us dealing with a nervous mother. But usually we catch such mothers within a few minutes, and they usually come to us without much effort and gentle persuasion - in this case it took an hour to catch her - even with kittens present. I have no doubt from her behaviour that this cat has not just been badly neglected, but also abused.

As of now, the mother is actually starting to calm down - after another couple of days she is less nervous, and starting to let us pet her.
