In-N-Out Burger President Notes Challenges Doing Business In California

Posted • July 18, 2025: California is a beautiful place. But it has had horrible leadership in the Democrat Party for years, from folks like LA Mayor Karen Bass to Gov. Gavin Newsom. Instead of being concerned about things he should be focused on in the Golden State, he's already spending a lot of his time gearing up for a run for president in 2028, doing things like attacking his likely competition in Vice President JD Vance. Having such leadership has made it hard for the people who have had to live there and deal with things like the Pacific Palisades fires or the crime in Los Angeles. It's also hard for people trying to run businesses in the state. Lynsi Snyder has a business there. Indeed, she runs quite a famous business - she's the president of In-N-Out Burger. She appeared on "Relatable" with Allie Beth Stuckey on Friday to talk about some of her experiences. "In-N-Out has weathered so much," she said, saying God had had his hand on their company and explaining some of her personal evolution.

She spoke about hoops they had to go through during COVID, and that they refused to police customers over vaccine cards at that time. In-N-Out President Lynsi Snyder: “We’re not policing our customers.” Allie Beth Stuckey and Lynsi reflect on the time In-N-Out defied California by refusing to check customers’ vaccine status. —— Their San Francisco location was briefly closed, but she said it was "worth it." Reports also indicated they closed an In-N-Out in Oakland in 2024 due to an ongoing problem with crime. She also spoke about a big move that they're making, that they'll be opening up an office in Franklin, Tennessee, and she'll be moving there. —— In-n-Out President Lynsi Snyder reveals for the first time that she and her family are LEAVING California for Tennessee. “Raising a family is not easy here,” she told me. “Doing business is not easy here.” After 77 years, In-n-Out HQ will say goodbye to its home state and set up shop in Franklin.

The granddaughter of the fast food chain’s founders, Snyder is staying true to the company’s Christian foundation while expanding its reach. Our conversation was fascinating. Lynsi shares the untold story of In-n-Out’s early years and the hardship she went through before becoming the successful business leader she is. Her journey to Jesus is raw and redemptive. You will be so encouraged. —— “Raising a family is not easy here,” she told Stuckey. “Doing business is not easy here.” She said they would be closing their Irvine headquarters by 2030 and consolidating that into their headquarters in Baldwin Park, California. The "bulk of the stores" will still be in California, she explained. But she said it will be great to grow in Tennessee and have the "family and other people's families" out there. They're planning on having locations for the restaurant opening in Tennessee in 2026, which will make folks in that area very happy. They're still turning down other places like Florida so far. (…)
