This Lesson was supposed to be, in conjunction with other previous lessons, relating to the Israelites’ part in Christ’s Millennial Kingdom with an understanding of Romans 10:4 and Romans 8:3 in the light of the truth of Hebrews 8:8 (verses which speak of what was accomplished in the shedding of Christ’s Blood), and then reconciling that to the future Millennial reinstituting of the Temple and Law of Moses and the blood sacrifices prophesied by Ezekiel, which seems contrary to religious understanding.
But let us digress for a moment in basic β€˜Christ’s Kingdom Coming’ understanding… (the above to be addressed further in a future teaching). A good understanding as it relates to the timing or meaning of the Coming Kingdom of Jesus can be discerned in Jesus’ Words in Luke 17:20-24 when rightly interpreted… β€œNow when He was demanded by the Pharisees (who were trying to trap Him) when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, β€œThe kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, β€˜See here!’ or β€˜See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.” Much harm has been done to those who might otherwise have been taught rightly to seek a tangible place in His Coming heavenly Kingdom had they not gotten dismissed by the demonic misunderstanding conveyed by those who have taught wrongly that β€˜the Kingdom of God is not to be understood by us as an external thing but an inward spiritual standing in which all redeemed/born again; β€˜spiritually speaking’ are automatically already enrolled and participating in.’ It is a doctrine that corresponds with the false teaching that the β€˜Kingdom’ is now here, in the form of the β€˜Church,’ who is β€˜spiritual Israel,’ replacing rejected Israel, and who now are appointed to rule in the Earth, and through whom the World will be eventually brought into subjection through its present β€˜Christian’ workings. (It being a demonically-inspired idea that the coming Kingdom of Christ is purely spiritualized. This is what many denominations teach. It is called Amillenialism… a teaching that says there is no future Millennial reign of Christ on the Earth to be found worthy of. This doctrine steals away from us the pursuit of being counted worthy of His coming Kingdom, in that it says believers are already automatically awarded it.)
Other translations of β€œthe kingdom of God is within you” have rightly translated it as β€œthe Kingdom of God is in your midst”… or β€œamong you.” Both convey understandings which are in harmony with Old or New Testament Scriptures of a future β€˜literal’ tangible Kingdom wherein the Messiah would rule over the Nations of the Earth through β€˜Israel.’ Contextually, what is being declared to the Pharisees is that His very presence among them was representative that the Kingdom of God was then nigh them… that which they could not perceive (in that the Kingdom was at hand for them if they would have just recognized the King of that Kingdom was in their midst). His coming Kingdom would never come as the Jews were/are anticipating. That is to say, they were anticipating the coming of the anointed Messiah that would rise up from among them and would militarily lead them (although they be in blind rebellion to God, and in darkness to His purposes) to great victory over the Romans and establish Israel as God’s Nation in the Earth. What Jesus was speaking to was their prideful unbelief in their rejection of Him as their Messiah. He and His Kingdom would not come according to their thoughts and religious observations. He made it clear to His apostles that He and His Kingdom will come β€œβ€¦as the lightning, that lighteth out of the one part under heaven, shineth unto the other part under heaven, so shall also the Son of man be in his day.” The sense of Jesus’ Words in His first coming was their lack of recognizing Him and His kingdom’s heavenly calling then β€˜being in their midst’ and was a harbinger of the reality of His Second Coming and being established as their King. And secondly, most telling of a tangible Kingdom coming is seen in His promises to His Disciples while walking with them, of their future ruling from physical thrones in that future Kingdom. And of course the first 3 Chapters of the Revelation of Jesus speak of similar promises of Crowns, Thrones, and Ruling to all....
