Axe M*rderer To Be Released Early In Tim Walz’s Minnesota Due To Democrat Passed Law

A convicted axe murderer who killed his parents, & siblings in Minnesota will be released early due to a new law passed under Democratic rule
David Brom, who brutally killed his parents and two younger siblings in 1988 when he was 16, is set to be released from prison this month.
In February 1988, Brom, then a high school student, used an axe to kill his father Bernard (42), mother Paulette (41), sister Diane (13), and brother Rick (9) in their Rochester home, delivering more than 60 blows in total. He confessed after turning himself in, saying a family argument was his motive.
Brom was tried as an adult, convicted and sentenced to life without parole.
The Minnesota Department of Corrections confirmed Brom will move to a halfway house in the Twin Cities for a work release program, with his next supervised release review scheduled for January 2026.
The decision was made based on a 2023 state law that restricted life sentences without parole for juveniles - which was passed under a Democrat trifecta led by Governor Tim Walz and a DFL controlled legislature.
Minnesota House Republicans condemned the announcement, calling it a "dangerous precedent" and urging reforms to the law.
Olmsted County Sheriff Kevin Torgerson said he was concerned over public safety when Brom is released.
