The Example (Money Matters Series #1)

The are some topics people don’t like to hear about in church. One of those topics is money. Yet the Bible lays out practical principles concerning our attitude toward and handling of money. This message begins a new series concerning our finances. However, it isn’t going to be a series of varied texts, rather a study of 2 chapters of a letter from Paul to a church that speaks to this topic.
The church in Jerusalem was in desperate need financially. Other churches had promised to send a gift to help the struggling believers in Jerusalem. One church in particular, who was also struggling went above and beyond in their giving. Paul uses this church as an example. As we turn to 2 Corinthians, Pastor Rick points out principles in giving that Paul lays out in his letter. Today we will consider Money Matters #1: “The Example.”
