Lama Dawa Zangpo’s Commentary:
Milarepa is renowned as one of the great, great yogis and meditators in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. Here, in this very short statement, he's essentially declaring that he has reached the pinnacle of spiritual practice. I need nothing. I seek nothing. I desire nothing. The completion of the spiritual path is the complete letting go of oneself as a separate entity, as a separate being with needs and wants and desires, when true freedom has been achieved, when the ego is no more, there is nothing that is needed. There is nothing left to seek, and there's nothing else that one wants. One is fully present, content, and happy inside, fulfilled, you could say. So this is Milarepa's declaration of his victory, you could say.
