Syria remains on the brink amid fresh violence between the country’s Druze minority and Bedouin tribes. In a fresh escalation, Israel launched unprecedented airstrikes on Damascus to purportedly protect the Druze community. The strikes hit key Syrian military targets, including areas near the presidential palace. Hours later, Syria’s interim leader, Ahmed al-Sharaa, announced a full troop withdrawal from the flashpoint Sweida province, handing control to local Druze elders. Over 350 people have been killed since the clashes erupted on July 13.
