Find your happy place. Put headphones on. Melt into original soft and lovely music.
Some Blues, smooth jazz, Lo-fi, Americana, Hillbilly-Rock, a tribute to Jan Hammer 'who had me' at the TV opera Miami Vice!
You'll also find tunes built around soft electronic and ambient technique.
Gentle scores too. Like When Cathy Smiles—the kind that pulls you back 80 years to sounds mostly forgotten. For most, it’s education. For some, it’s memory.
Couple of Chill beats too. I put you on beaches with those.
If you like Neo-folk, you'll enjoy the gentle memories of Captain Homeward.
Give Ninar Tuska Pine a listen. No need to Google what 'Sound Poetry' is—it just takes appreciation. The human voice tells stories if you wish it to.
I write them to blend sight and sound into something nearly impossible. Sometimes the lyrics are true. Sometimes romantic as found in Midnight Whispers. That one’s sure to settle you down. My artwork talks in that song.
It was a long time ago. Bayshore, Long Island. Back door at Hogan’s Goat Bar.
Cathy decided we’d had our fun. Time to go.
We stepped into the cool autumn air heavy with the scent of rain.
Not a dark night, though. Full moon.
Our van parked across the street.
Street barely used. Not much maintained. Puddled easy.
Cathy raised her arms. Wanted to be carried.
I lifted her into my arms.
Then my toe tapped the puddle at the curb. Not deep at all.
Two steps in, I dropped her to her heels.
She looked at me, wondering what came next.
I twirled her. Danced. Stepped lightly as wonderful.
The puddle was our ballroom floor. The moon our disco ball.
And I sang Midnight Whispers softly into her ear.
So now: Look at the moonlight on that puddle. Listen to me sing again. Into your ear.
Watch 'us' dance.
