Rescuers on standby near swollen river in Pakistan after heavy rain

Rescue vehicles stand ready after residents living in low-lying areas near the Nala Lai river that runs through the city of Rawalpindi, next to the capital Islamabad, were ordered to evacuate after a sharp rise in the water level. Over the past 24 hours, heavy rains have been linked to 54 deaths in Pakistan.
