Bad News for Fantastic Four | Box Office Projections WORSE Than Superman’s Opening

Fantastic Four is projected to make just less than Jaems Gunn’s Superman during its opening weekend at the domestic box office.

While a $100+ million dollar opening isn’t anything to scoff at, especially when compared to other recent Marvel entries, it’s still not a strong indicator of success out of the gate. Fantastic Four will need strong word-of-mouth or risk falling victim to another Marvel trend of having a big second weekend drop at the box office. Fantastic Four would likely need something in the area of $600-$650 million globally in order to break even and that means the movie needs to have a strong box office hold with Superman already proven to be an audience pleaser.
