All clear issued in Alaska after A massive magnitude 7.3 earthquake was recorded off the coast of the chain of Aleutian Islands.

Officials now say a tsunami is not expected after initially issuing a tsunami warning and then an advisory.

The quake was felt as far away as Anchorage, almost 600 miles (966 km) to the northeast.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the earthquake happened at 12:37 p.m. local time and was pinpointed roughly 54 miles from Sand Point, Alaska, centered about 12 miles deep.

The U.S. Coast Guard reported it evacuated personnel from its base at Kodiak to higher ground and had two air crews stand ready to assist.
