Évora to Lisbon in CP's Glorified Commuter Train

🎥 A trip that should’ve been smooth, fast, and comfortable… turned into a slow, noisy crawl across southern Portugal.

I boarded what was supposed to be a CP Intercidades train from Évora to Lisbon. But instead of proper Intercity cars capable of 200 km/h, I was greeted by a refurbished EMU better suited for suburban runs.

No warning. No discount. No apology.

In this video, we dive into this unexpected downgrade, explore the Alentejo Line’s scenic and historical value, and cross one of Portugal’s most beautiful rail segments — the Tagus River bridge into Lisbon — all while questioning what exactly CP is thinking.

➤ 📍Route: Évora → Lisboa-Oriente
➤ 🚆 Scheduled as: Intercidades
➤ 🚫 Operated with: Class 2240 EMU
➤ 📉 Arrival Delay: +34 minutes

💬 What would YOU do if you paid for a premium train and got a rattly suburban EMU instead? Let me know in the comments.
