Experiment: Acetone MIST to Restore a Screwdriver (very odd results)
Some, weird things happened. In today's experiment we use an acetone mist to restore the finish on an old acetate handled Rosco Phillips tip.

Disclaimer:
No statement has been made suggesting that you should, or should not use acetone to chemically "restore" a tool. I can only document my results from the experiment. Your results may vary. Different plastic compositions may have a different reaction to the acetone. The Chemical Restoration Experiment series is ongoing, some tests may fail, but I will document them anyway. All tests are done on "junk" tools that would have ended up in my scrap metal pile anyway.
