The Cutting Room Floor

The Cutting Room Floor is my fifth album. It’s titles thusly because it is mainly composed of songs that did not make it on the preceding four albums. I get a bit experimental diving in with alternate tuning, again. Instead of following a certain theme this album is more of a smorgasbord. A jambalaya with differently flavored music.
The album contains creations caused by experience. Like many of my monsters. However these ones are more about growth.
There are compositions about hitchhiking, a strange religion based around pot. Pointing out political pointlessness and, yes, I mouth off against iz-ems. I couldn't stop myself and did not even try. More songs about supernatural monsters and ones about dealing with the monsters inside of me. A song about soaring into the cosmos. Ending with some advice for myself and others.
For me it is about growth and a continued need to explore and create. It has taken me a bit of effort to recall how to play many of these songs. It's been a few years since I dug them out of the tickle trunk. It took me some effort to dust them off. Honestly I feel like it's worth it. It’s like visiting the younger you. Seeing the similarities and differences between the younger and elder me.
This album also signifies a personal achievement or milestone. I officially wrote 50 songs. With sweat, blood, tears, screams, laughter, and many experiences, I did this. I also have enough songs for at least one more album.
