A.V. Dicey started out as a unionist then from experience of law. He completely changed his mind. He wanted a return to the common law union and abolish the statutory union that was Jacobite in nature. The issues were FREE TRADE that undermined England as Scottish traders were unscrupulous and undermined the English traders through cheap or "slave" labour.

A.V.Dicey was in effect Trump 1 in his thinking and Sir William Wade thought the same too!

When you read the real legal history it becomes clear . . . the Political union was an experiment with dire consequences for both nations.
