Superman Failing to Man of Steel? James Gunn's DCU in Trouble?

Superman took the top spot at the box office this weekend, but it's not all good news for James Gunn and the new DCU. Good word of mouth may carry the latest iteration of Clark Kent to glory, but right now it's trailing Man of Steel in all available metrics and that's not a good sign. Having the biggest single day in 2025 means nothing if you cannot follow it up with a success.

The Snyder faithful are never, EVER, going to shut up if this film dies in its second weekend.
