Cosmic Fantasy: Bouken Shounen Yuu (PCECD - 1990) playthrough 14/18 Nineva, Ice Tower & Ice Castle

One of the first 3 RPGs ever released on the CD format, this is a very generic JRPG of the time.
It's a short trip east to Ramseum Temple. Medusas are found along the way, but Yuu is able defeat them with one hit, so there's no fear of the Medusa's petrify ability. Ramseum Temple is the other place where the sound effects are off. The Water Witch Nina we defeated has been resurrected as a more powerful Ice Witch . Rather than fighting her, she sends a never-ending stream of enemies at us. If you're able to survive long enough, you can use this to level up as anytime the characters level up, they gain the new stats along with being fully recovered for the next battle. You will have to eventually lose a battle to progress. After losing to Nina's minions, Yuu wakes up in the frozen town of Nineva. The only places where the town's name is given is as a destination to ride Monmo to and on the map in the game's manual. With Saya taken by Nina to her castle and Momno in disrepair, Yuu's completely by himself for the next section. If Yuu hasn't learned Meditation (learned at level 29), which fully heals the party at a cost of 40MP, this could be a bit difficult to survive. If Yuu doesn't have Meditation, you'll likely have to walk back to Bahari and stock up on Elixirs, Panaceas, Tents, and/or Camp Capsules. Speaking to any of the frozen villagers causes Yuu to be enraged enough to activate his psychic power. While rare, Yuu can be attacked by multiple enemies in the Ice Tower and Castle, so Smoke Bombs are very useful during this stretch if the extra enemies are anything other than Mysterious Pots, as I've never seen them fail to work (I've never tried against a boss, but I assume they would fail against them). Because Speed is a seemingly pointless stat, the best shield for Yuu, the Ice Shield, is found here. Making my way through the tower, then the castle to reach Nina. With Nina defeated, Saya is rescued, the castle collapses and we're instantly back in the thawed out Nineva where Monmo is back up and running.
