The BRICS Expansion and the End of European Controlled Nations Economic and Geopolitical Dominance

European-led nations, some call it the West, global dominance and rivalry had ended and the doctrine of European balance of power is being replaced.

One of the most defining characteristics of the system is its polarity, determined by the number of dominant global powers. A multi-polar world features several great powers, a bipolar system has two, and a unipolar system is dominated by a single superpower. In recent years, the uni-polarity established by the United States after the Cold War has begun to erode, giving way to a more multi-polar global order.

The Shift Toward Multi-polarity

As the world transitions away from uni-polarity, economic and geopolitical influence is becoming more distributed. While the United States remains a dominant power, emerging economies and regional players are gaining strength:

China, the European Union, India, and Japan wield economic influence due to technological advancements, large populations, and strong industries.
Russia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, and Brazil hold strategic importance due to their vast energy reserves.

Pakistan, Turkey, Ukraine, and Central Asian nations have regional significance due to their geo-strategic locations along key energy and trade routes. This diversification of power suggests that no single nation will dictate global affairs alone, leading to a more competitive and fragmented world order.
