To my fellow owners of bodies with "refined taste" 🙄

You know what I'm talking about. That body that's like a food critic who sends back soup bc it's 0.2 degrees too warm.

Here I am, weighing my thyroid med into MICROGRAMS, HONEY bc apparently taking a whole pill? Too aggressive. Cutting it in 1/2 or 1/4? Still too much for my delicate sensibilities.

Cue the tiny scale & tweezers because we're doing thyroid medication like we're seasoning a fairy's dinner.

Some days I'm zen about it. "Oh, what a lovely ritual of self-care!" Other days I'm like... srsly? I can't just eat some meat, take a walk, & call it good? Why does my body need a 47-step morning routine that looks like I'm preparing for space travel?

Don't even get me started on meal prep. While other people grab whatev's in the fridge, I'm here reading ingredient labels like I'm decoding ancient hieroglyphs, making sure there's nothing that'll send my system into a 3-day tantrum.

But here's the thing - after these occasional 15-minute pity parties (yes, I'll make time for my drama), I remember something important: These "annoying" extra steps? They've given me my life back.

Remember when you used to crash every afternoon & need three cups of coffee just to function? Now you have steadier energy. Remember when your hormones had you feeling like you were living in someone else's body? Now you actually recognize yourself again.

The woman who takes 20 mins each morning to dose her supps & peps & prep her anti-inflammatory breakfast isn't high-maintenance - she's getting her LIFE back. She's the one who can keep up with her fam, sleep all night, & actually enjoy her body instead of fighting it.
Your "refined taste" body has been thru enough to know what it needs to thrive.

So tomorrow when you're measuring out everything with mad scientist precision, remember: you're not being extra, you're being intentional; & that intentionality is what's going to get you the life you actually want to live.

💕 sends love to all my fellow body-whisperers out there 💕
