Ammonite Fossils can be found in various locations on Earth. Gemstone-grade ammonites can be found in southern Alberta, Canada near the St. Mary River and the Oldman River.

The largest ammonite fossil ever discovered, Parapuzosia seppenradensis, was found in Germany in 1895.

The oldest known ammonite fossil was discovered in the Krolowa Beds of the Holy Cross Mountains in southern Poland, dating back to the Devonian period.
