Released by Parker Brothers in 1992, The Grape Escape is a survival game for kids ages five and up. Players take control of one of four grapes that are molded from a soft putty called Grape Goo, on their terrifying adventure through an automated jam factory. This factory is packed with traps designed to squish, squash, and slice our poor little grapes into delicious jam.

In 2010 Hasbro reintroduced the game under the title Smashed Potatoes, officially combining the licenses for Mr./Mrs. Potato Head, The Grape Escape, and Play-Doh into one product. Smashed Potatoes closely resembled The Grape Escape's game play with only minor changes, including the replacement of die with a spinner, and the removal of portions of the mechanical game board.

Hasbro released an updated version of The Grape Escape again in 2022, this time featuring significant changes to the game play. The new version of the game reintroduced a die for player movement and bound actions to spaces on the game board. The factory mechanism that served as the central them of the original game had also been removed in favor of more simple hand operated traps.

Though the modern version of The Grape Escape is massively different than the original, it is still an enjoyable game that's perfect for kids.
