Elon Musk: I like manufacturing. For some reason, it got out of fashion. I’m not sure why.

You can think of manufacturing not as some boring process of making road copies, but rather that the manufacturing system that creates the car is itself a very complex machine.

And just as innovation applies to the design and engineering of the car, you can apply and should apply innovation to the machine that makes the machine. You can come up with some really cool new ways to manufacture a vehicle.”
