Authors of The Resistance is Elevating the story of Jaime Alanís Garcia, a California farmworker who tragically died after suffering catastrophic injuries during an immigration raid on a cannabis farm near Camarillo. Jaime reportedly fell 30 feet while fleeing from federal agents, resulting in a broken neck and skull. He succumbed to his injuries days later at the Ventura County Medical Center.

Jaime's story is yet another devastating example of how aggressive immigration enforcement tactics and systemic disregard for farmworkers—many of whom are essential laborers—can lead to fatal consequences.
