Godley ISD School Board Meeting June 16, 2025

Godley ISD voted 6-1 to max out the property tax rate for its citizens during their June 16, 2025 school board meeting. The loan Conservative on the board, Kayla Lain, took fire for standing up for her constituents wallets and Superintendent Rich Dear made it a point to rudely interrupt her when the discussion took place over the new Texas law requiring school districts to allow homeschoolers to participate in athletics unless a school policy is put into place against it. Godley is seeking to prevent taxpaying citizens from allowing their children to participate in the taxpayer funded government school athletics.

Superintendent Rich Dear fails to acknowledge that taxpayers are footing the bill for his salary. Maybe he needs a reminder of who he works for.
