Six senior commanders of Hamas’s naval commando unit were eliminated in a series of targeted Israeli operations in the Gaza Strip, according to a joint statement by the IDF and Shin Bet.

The strikes, part of Israel’s ongoing offensive that began in mid-May, were coordinated by the Israeli Navy, the Intelligence Directorate, Southern Command, and Shin Bet. These commanders were reportedly involved in planning maritime attacks against Israeli forces and civilians, including the October 7 massacre.

The eliminated operatives include:
• Ramzi Salah, naval commander in northern Gaza
• Jamal al-Baba, commander in central Gaza
• Ratab Abu Sahiban, commander in Gaza City
• Omar Abu Jalala, commander in Khan Younis
• Mohammed Qashta, commander in Rafah
• Ahmad Ali, who recently replaced Abu Sahiban in Gaza City

The IDF says the killings deal a major blow to Hamas’s ability to conduct sea-based assaults.
