AIWB - Why No Love?

I wanted to mention the misinformation that some folks love to spread about appendix carry.

There are no holster positions that offer 100% safety of the carrier (or non-carriers).

If you're unsafe with strong-side carry, you'll be unsafe with any carry position. The issues pertain to the weilder of the tool, not the tool itself or the position it's being carried.

Some critical tips:

Slow down when holstering - there should never be a race to holster a firearm;

Keep your finger off the trigger until you intend to shoot;

Ensure there's nothing that will catch the trigger when holstering; ensure the holster protects/covers the trigger;

Tilt pelvis outward when holstering;

With 1911s, push gun into holster without actuating the grip safety. Also, ensure the thumb safety is enabled when holstering.
