Episode 962: The church at Smyrna and the Red Heifer

Hello everyone. In today's Bible study we continue our journey through the letters that the Lord Jesus wrote to seven churches located in Asia Minor which is modern Turkey today.

Our focus for this study is on the church located in the city of Smyrna. During our historical overview of Smyrna, we uncovered that it was at the epicenter of emperor worship during the height of the Roman empire.

Also, it maintained its deep connection with the false religions of the Babylonian, Persian, and Greek cultures which all coincide with the religious that originated in Babel then Egypt.

We discovered why the Lord Jesus revealed Himself as God. The purpose behind that revelation was to prove that He had the power to come into the world as a man, allow Himself to be put to death as a man, then raise His own body from the grave, again proving that He is in fact God.

Why was this important for the Smyrna believers? Because they were facing extreme measures of persecution which was about to become extremely more severe.

How will they be able to face such adversity, tribulations, and sufferings with falling away from the fate? If God loves me, loves us, how can He standby while allowing the devil and wicked people to ostracize and kill His children? Why would You do such a thing, Father?

Today we address this very important issue of why Lord?
