Free Mystery Game Actually Happened – The Operator Ep. 1

What's going on everyone?
Welcome to Episode 1 of The Operator — a twisted mystery thriller where you're not a detective in the field, but an FDI operator behind a console, solving murders, abductions, and conspiracies through data analysis, photo forensics, and database hacks.

In this first episode, we start fresh — completely blind — and dive into our new role at the FDI. After logging into our terminal (with some suspiciously glitchy behavior), we meet our coworkers, run through a quick tutorial, and then BAM — we’re thrown into a double-case intro:

Case #1: A barroom homicide. A man is shot at close range and we’re tasked with identifying the shooter using surveillance footage and vehicle records.

Case #2: A bizarre missing persons case involving possible alien abduction in the Nevada desert, complete with photo inconsistencies, strange triangulation data, and a witness claiming to be taken aboard a ship by “tall, thin” beings.

Oh, and did I mention a rogue AI named Hal hacked my terminal mid-investigation? Yeah… things are escalating quickly.

The Operator is FREE on Epic Games until Wednesday night, June 25th, 2025, or early Thursday morning (the 26th) depending on your time zone. Epic drops 1–2 free games every week, so if you're into mystery, puzzle-solving, or just want to play along with the series, grab it while you can.
