The skill hasn’t vanished, it has just faded from sight

I’ve been in the bamboo business for 30 years. Most of our work is for scaffolding and construction, but things have changed. Work has dropped, wages have shrunk — we can’t even pay our craftsmen properly. Bamboo is costly now, and inflation has made survival tough.

We still make ladders, gutter scoops, sticks — the demand is there, but not enough to make ends meet.
