Flintlock 24: VBSS Training Off the Coast of Ghana – Multinational Maritime Operations

Special operations forces from Ghana, Tunisia, and Libya conduct a Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure (VBSS) exercise aboard the Italian Navy's Comandante Bettica (P-492), supported by an HH-101A Caesar helicopter from the Italian Air Force’s 9th Wing, 21st Squadron, off the coast of Takoradi, Ghana, on May 16, 2024.

Part of Exercise Flintlock 24, this maritime training scenario strengthens combined maritime interdiction capabilities, improves multinational coordination, and fosters security cooperation across West Africa and the Mediterranean. Flintlock is led by African partner nations and enabled by U.S. and international special operations forces to enhance regional stability and readiness.
