F-16 Viper Demo Jet Repainted in Classic YF-16 Livery – 50th Anniversary Tribute

The 412th Maintenance Group’s Fabrication Flight – Corrosion Control Team at Edwards Air Force Base has completed a special repainting of the F-16 Viper Demonstration Team’s aircraft. The jet now sports the iconic YF-16 prototype livery to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the F-16’s very first flight—originally conducted at Edwards AFB in 1974.

This tribute honors five decades of air superiority, innovation, and service associated with the F-16 Fighting Falcon. The newly painted demo jet will appear in airshows across the U.S., proudly showcasing its historic roots and the expert craftsmanship of the 412th Test Wing team.
