Injustice: Gods Among Us

Injustice: Gods Among Us is a 2013 fighting video game developed by NetherRealm Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. Released for PlayStation 3, Wii U, and Xbox 360, it marks the first installment in the Injustice franchise, set in an alternate universe based on characters from DC Comics.

In this dark and twisted timeline, Superman becomes a tyrant after being tricked by the Joker into killing Lois Lane and their unborn child, as well as destroying Metropolis. This catastrophic event leads him to establish a brutal regime known as the One Earth Government, enforcing peace through fear. In response, Batman forms an insurgency to fight against Superman’s oppressive rule, leading to a war among heroes and villains who must choose sides.

The game features a rich roster of iconic DC characters like Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Harley Quinn, and many more, each with unique combat styles and special moves. It uses a modified version of the engine from Mortal Kombat (2011), emphasizing cinematic storytelling and environmental interactions.

Injustice: Gods Among Us was praised for its engaging narrative, polished gameplay mechanics, and faithful portrayal of DC characters. It later received an Ultimate Edition and a sequel, Injustice 2, released in 2017.
