Man rescues six people, four of them being children, from a sixth-floor ledge in a burning apartment building in Paris, France.

39-year-old Fousseynou Cissé was seen risking his own life to save six people, two of whom were infants.

"There were lives at stake. I didn’t calculate; it was instinct," Cissé said in an interview after the incident.

The act caught President Emmanuel Macron's attention, who personally called Cissé, thanking him for his quick thinking and bravery.

The city is expected to formally honor him in the coming days.

Paris Police Chief Laurent Nuñez said he will be awarding Cissé a medal for his "courage and devotion".
