The Unknown Podcast 46 Current Events: Elon’s Party, Epstein’s List, Diddy’s Trial & Holy Trump
Episode 46 of The Unknown Podcast features co-hosts Richard Luthmann and Michael Volpe delivering a no-holds-barred breakdown of the week’s biggest news stories. From Elon Musk’s political ambitions to Trump’s IRS victory for religious free speech, no topic is off-limits.
The show opens with a fiery debate on Elon Musk’s new “America Party.” Volpe is cautiously optimistic: “He’s got the reach and resources—220 million followers is nothing to ignore.” Luthmann counters that Musk might be biting off more than he can chew. “He’s a builder, not a politician. Unless this is kayfabe with Trump, it won’t work.” Both agree that federal debt is Musk’s core issue, but Luthmann notes, “Debt isn’t sexy. No one gets off to a CPA spreadsheet.”
Next, the hosts dig into Pam Bondi’s claim that she had the Jeffrey Epstein client list “on her desk.” Volpe calls it a credibility disaster: “If the DOJ says no list exists, she should be fired.” Luthmann defends Bondi, arguing she was set up by the deep state. The two spar over whether Epstein was murdered or killed himself, with Luthmann pointing to the suspicious autopsy. “You’d need to be a gymnast to hang yourself like that,” he says.
In the Diddy trial, Volpe calls the verdict “a total prosecution fail,” noting the jury only convicted him on a minor charge. Luthmann blasts Diddy’s legal team: “He’s in federal lockup and could’ve walked if his lawyers were competent.”
Tucker Carlson’s controversial interviews with anti-American leaders also come under fire. “He talks to Putin and Iran’s president, but ignores Ukraine and Israel,” Volpe says. Luthmann accuses Carlson of flirting with Holocaust denial and calls him a “mouthpiece for the woke right.”
Finally, they tackle Trump’s IRS decision to stop enforcing the Johnson Amendment, which barred churches from endorsing candidates. Volpe warns this blurs the line between church and state, but Luthmann celebrates it as a free speech victory. “Churches should have the right to speak out,” he says.
The hosts close the segment as they always do—unfiltered, sharp, and with biting humor. “When truth meets power,” Luthmann says, “expect fireworks.”
