Smith Wigglesworth, born June 8, 1859, in Menston, Yorkshire, England, rose from a humble, impoverished background to become a global beacon of faith, often called the “Apostle of Faith.” With little formal education, he worked as a plumber and was illiterate until his wife, Polly, taught him to read the Bible—the only book he ever read. After experiencing baptism in the Holy Spirit in 1907, Wigglesworth’s ministry exploded with boldness, preaching faith, divine healing, and the power of the Holy Spirit. His meetings, spanning the U.S., Australia, New Zealand, and Europe, were marked by extraordinary miracles: tumors vanished, the lame walked, and reports even claim he raised people from the dead, including his wife Polly.
