During an interview with Sky News, an anonymous Israeli soldier admitted that he and his fellows soldiers in Gaza murdered Palestinian civilians at random, with decisions to shoot sometimes based solely on a commander's mood.

He described how prolonged exposure to such violence leads to the normalization of killing and a breakdown of moral judgment.

Jimmy discusses similar historical accounts from the 1948 Nakba, where Israeli soldiers admitted to committing atrocities, including mass murder, rape, and burning villages, which some survivors recount with disturbing detachment.

Such violence has been central to the 1948 invention of Israel, and the ongoing actions in Gaza and the West Bank today.
