Sheffield-born Alex Storer is a graphic designer, illustrator, musician, and occasional writer with a deep-rooted passion for music, Doctor Who, and science fiction. While he never intended to become a writer, his interest in these subjects have resulted in unique works that resonate with like-minded audiences.

In 2016, Alex self-published Sound, Vision, Inspiration, an ebook reflecting on how David Bowie's music shaped his life—written as a tribute following Bowie’s passing. A year later, he turned his admiration for Peter Gabriel into Growing Up with the Music of Peter Gabriel, later revised and republished in 2024 as Input/Output.

A long-time ambition to contribute to Doctor Who fandom came to life in 2025 with Evolution of the Toy Dalek (Telos Publishing), the first book to chronicle the history of Dalek toys and models from the 1960s to present day.

His latest book, Blackpool Remembered—co-authored with fellow enthusiast John Collier—offers a richly detailed history of Blackpool’s iconic Doctor Who exhibition, which ran from 1974 to 1985. Combining nostalgia with fan culture, it pays tribute to one of the show's most beloved attractions, first experienced by Alex as an awe-struck seven-year-old.
