Augustus Doricko is the 25-year-old who founded Rainmaker, a cloud-seeding startup based in El Segundo, California.
Rainmaker focuses on using drones, radar, and silver iodide to enhance precipitation, with a goal of fighting droughts especially in the West.
He dropped out of UC Berkeley, where he studied physics and data science, and joined the Thiel Fellowship, a program for young innovators created by Peter Thiel - which provides $100,000 over two years to promising young entrepreneurs who forgo college.

The Texas flooding along the Guadalupe River, saw 12–15 inches of rain overnight, causing a 26-foot rise in 45 minutes.
The Texas National Guard has successfully rescued more than 520 victims from the floods
This includes 361 air evacuations by UH-60 Blackhawks, and 159 rescues with ground assets
