Crater Lake's unique characteristics, such as its depth and clarity, have led to its use in scientific studies, including simulations for missions to Europa, Jupiter's icy moon, by NASA.
The lake's formation around 7,700 years ago from the collapse of Mount Mazama is well-documented, contradicting the post's claim that it is "far older than we understand."
