SCRIPTURE READING FOR TODAY
Gen 41:53-57

53 And the seven years of plenteousness, that was in the land of Egypt, were ended.
--
54 And the seven years of dearth began to come, according as Joseph had said: and the dearth was in all lands; but in all the land of Egypt there was bread.
--
55 And when all the land of Egypt was famished, the people cried to Pharaoh for bread: and Pharaoh said unto all the Egyptians, Go unto Joseph; what he saith to you, do.
--
56 And the famine was over all the face of the earth: And Joseph opened all the storehouses, and sold unto the Egyptians; and the famine waxed sore in the land of Egypt.
--
57 And all countries came into Egypt to Joseph for to buy corn; because that the famine was so sore in all lands.

The Word of God To Meditate On Today
Gen 41:53-57 The Years Of Famine Began According To The Word Of Joseph
The years of abundance came to an end, and the years of famine began, according as Joseph had said (Is 44:27). In that time Joseph dealt with Egypt and with his brothers. It was a time which could be compared with “the hour of testing, that [hour] which is about to come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth” (Rev_3:10 ) and upon Israel in particular (Jer_30:7 ). During the years of abundance, we hear nothing from the brothers. That will happen now. When hunger begins and the land calls for bread, Pharaoh says: “Go to Joseph; whatever he says to you, you shall do.” This is again a beautiful picture of the gospel. God says to people in need about their sins and call to Him: “Go to Jesus, do whatever He says to you” (cf. Joh_2:5 ).

26 Who confirms the word of His servant, And performs the counsel of His messengers; Who says to Jerusalem, ‘You shall be inhabited,’ To the cities of Judah, ‘You shall be built,’ And I will raise up her waste places;

10 “Because you have obeyed my command to persevere, I will protect you from the great time of testing that will come upon the whole world to test those who belong to this world.

7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: It is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; But he shall be saved out of it.

5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.

Father, by the power of the Holy Spirit, make my words seasoned with salt, and confirm them as I devote myself to You from my heart in Jesus' name! Col 4:6 TPT

6 Let every word you speak be drenched with grace and tempered with truth and clarity. For then you will be prepared to give a respectful answer to anyone who asks about your faith.

For God shall give his angels charge over thee, To keep thee in all my ways. They shall bear me up in their hands, Lest I dash thy foot against a stone. I shall tread upon the lion and adder: The young lion and the dragon shalt I trample under feet. Because I have set my love upon God, therefore will He deliver me: He will set him on high, because I have known His name. I shall call upon Him, and He will answer me: He will be with me in trouble; He will deliver me, and honour me. With long life will God satisfy me, And shew me His salvation. So shall it be for me and my household throughout this week in Jesus' name!
