The No-Longer-Rhetorical Question Of Democrat Violence

Posted • July 9, 2025: Earlier we brought you the story about Tom Homan going off on the Democrat rhetoric about ICE -- rhetoric that got an Alvarado, TX police officer shot in the neck. Eight suspects were arrested in conjunction with that incident. A man in New York was arrested and charged with threatening to shoot an ICE agent and his children. The Left is also pushing to prohibit ICE agents and other law enforcement from wearing masks while arresting illegal immigrants. While I prefer an open government with identifiable law enforcement, the Left's Bolshevik tendencies and their unwillingness to punish violent criminals mean I come down on the side of letting ICE wear masks to protect their identities, their families, and their ability to enforce our laws. But I digress. Here's what Homan had to say about the Democrats in Congress:

Tom Homan slams Congress rhetoric on ICE, calling recent attacks "well-planned" and blaming lawmakers comparing ICE agents to terrorists and Nazis. Despite threats, he asserts, "We're NOT going to stop enforcing immigration law." President Trump stands by border security promises. —— He's correct. The Left's rhetoric has spawned violence among a significant portion of their base, to the point where Democratic voters are demanding elected politicians be willing to shed blood in the effort to fight President Trump. I asked then, and I ask again: what did the Democrats expect? Years of calling Republicans 'Hitler' and an 'existential threat to democracy and freedom' were going to spur a violent reaction, because that's the only way to deal with 'Hitler' and 'existential threats.' I'm also going to ask another question now: Where are Congressional Republicans?

For years after January 6, we heard the Left fret over the 'disrespect' shown to law enforcement on January 6, even though not a single police officer was killed because of that 'insurrection.' Now that there's a Republican in the White House and his administration is actually enforcing immigration law, the Left's respect for law enforcement has vanished. Tim Walz called ICE agents the 'Gestapo.' Boston Mayor Michelle Wu called them 'Neo-Nazis.' But let's focus on what members of Congress have said. Rep. Maxwell Frost accused ICE of 'crimes against humanity.' Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said the Laken Riley Act would open private 'prison camps' in America, and she defended members of Congress assaulting ICE officers -- namely, Reps. Lamonica McIver and Bonnie Watson Coleman. Rep. Rashida Tlaib accused ICE of 'kidnapping' a Palestinian. Sen. Elizabeth Warren said sending Haitians back would put them in 'imminent danger.' Rep. Jasmine Crockett accused ICE of 'terrorizing' communities. You get my point.

In 2023, Congress censured Rashida Tlaib for her remarks following the October 7, 2023 Hamas-led terror attacks. Republicans control the House and Senate, so why aren't they holding their Democratic colleagues accountable for this rhetoric -- rhetoric that has led to crimes against federal law enforcement agents Dems once swore they respected and cared about? Democrats do this because they want violence. They want to inflame their base and spur them to act. In Alvarado, TX, an ICE agent was shot, and another Leftist threatened the children of an ICE agent. The GOP needs to stop being soft on their Congressional colleagues and start using the House rules to censure, reprimand, or -- if appropriate -- expel Democrats who foster violence against our law enforcement agents. They expelled George Santos for less. Because Tom Homan is right: Democrats are encouraging this. Republicans aren't lifting a finger to discourage it, and they need to.
